It’s a packed week around Tipton County — here’s everything worth putting on your calendar.
Friday, Aug. 7 kicks off in the Depot District, where the Main Street Food, Family & Fun Night series returns from 6-8:30 p.m. This week’s special guests are Cotton, Peanut, Pepper and Oreo from Grace Amongst the Chaos Farm, LLC, joined by food trucks Eat at Eric’s Grill and Catering and Mix South, plus cornhole, giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, ring toss and horseshoes on the lawn.
That same evening, the Tipton County Museum hosts a free Family Game Night from 6:30-9 p.m. — come-and-go, family-friendly, games supplied, just bring the crew.
Also Friday, 797 Distillery brings something a little different: Micro Wrestling’s Big Little Brawlers, as seen on the Discovery Channel, from 7-9 p.m. The Microtorium of Pigeon Forge cast — Baby Jesus, Syko, Pinky Shortcake, Little Ozzy, Micro Tiger, Lil Chola, Gnate the Gnome, Knee High and Livy Luana — takes the ring, sponsored by Kickin’ Lawyer. It’s all-ages, but tickets must be bought online in advance (no refunds, though tickets transfer if the date changes).
Saturday, Aug. 8, the Historic Ruffin Theater opens auditions for its February 2027 production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” directed by Ted Maclin and assisted by Ellie Maclin. You can audition Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m. or Sunday, Aug. 9, from 2-5 p.m. — no experience required, and the rehearsal schedule stays light until January 2027.
Saturday night, stick around the Ruffin for Generation X Live, a night billed as “raised on hose water and neglect.” Karaoke starts things off, with the band taking the stage at 7 p.m. — $15 covers the whole night.
Rounding out the week, Monday, Aug. 10, the Ruffin hosts a free community screening of “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” presented by Youth Villages, Tennessee Kids Belong and The Fostered Gift. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for concessions, the film starts at 6, and a discussion on fostering in West Tennessee follows.
