Tipton County has always had stories worth telling. For nearly two decades, those stories have been Echo’s beat—the school board votes, the board of mayor and aldermen drama, and the neighbors doing remarkable things nobody else thought to write down.
We launched Paper Folds as a fully digital, independent newsroom because those stories deserve to be told. We operate with the belief that local news still works when it’s done right.

Echo Rose is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Paper Folds News, an independent digital news organization covering Tipton County, Tennessee. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and has been recognized for her work in editorial design and news coverage.
Robert Rose
Co-Founder & Publisher
Robert Rose is the co-founder and publisher of Paper Folds News. A Covington native and professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Memphis, he brings expertise in data, technology, and information systems to Paper Folds—helping turn the technical and data-driven side of local journalism into something that works for the community.
