Paper Folds transparency
Advertising & Sponsorship Disclosure
Effective April 2026
Paper Folds News is supported in part by advertising. Readers deserve a clear boundary between the business side of our organization and our journalism.
The Editorial–Advertising Wall
Advertising never influences editorial decisions. Advertisers do not receive favorable coverage, advance notice of stories, the ability to alter, delay, or stop reporting, or a say in how they are covered.
Labeling
All paid placements are labeled. Sponsored and paid content is clearly distinguished from newsroom reporting. We do not publish advertorial material disguised as journalism.
Advertising We Accept
We accept display advertising in our digital publications and on our website from local businesses, organizations, candidates, and other lawful advertisers. We may decline advertising that conflicts with our standards, makes false claims, or is inappropriate for our audience. Acceptance does not constitute endorsement.
Political Advertising
Political advertising is clearly labeled. Accepting a political advertisement does not represent an editorial endorsement; the newsroom does not endorse candidates.
Conflicts of Interest
Personal and business connections are common in a small county. We use transparency, editorial judgment, and internal documentation to identify and manage potential conflicts.
