Farm Day is back Saturday – and it’s free. The Tipton County Farm Bureau’s Women in Ag committee is taking over Turner Angus Farm in Covington from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with wagon rides, live animals, ag demos, FFA activities and food trucks. They drew 700-plus last year and are aiming for 1,000 this time.

The Area VIII Special Olympics – serving Tipton, Lauderdale, Crockett, and Haywood Counties – has been rescheduled to Friday, May 8 at Brighton High School due to prior weather conditions. Come out and show these incredible competitors some Tipton County love!

𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹
The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office will hold its annual Peace Officers Memorial Service on Friday, May 8 at noon at The Rock Church (1861 Hwy 51S, Covington). The service honors local law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Representatives from federal, state, and local agencies will be in attendance, and the public is welcome. The service lasts approximately one hour, followed by lunch at the church. This event is held in conjunction with National Police Week (May 11–17).

The Covington Country Club is throwing its first-ever auction, and members are encouraged to bring non-members along for the fun! Doors open at 6 p.m. for an evening of live and silent auctions, raffles, and games. Auction items include beach rentals, Titans tickets, NCAA football tickets, a year of free cart rental, free pool rental, and more. Free keg beer and appetizers are included, and the bar will be open for additional drinks. All proceeds go toward clubhouse upgrades and renovations.
